Janajati Abhiyan boosts tribal outreach in Bongaigaon

A series of development camps are being held across Gram Panchayats in Bongaigaon district under the Dharti Aaba Janajati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, which began on June 16. The initiative brings together multiple departments to work towards the upliftment of tribal communities in the region.
Departments involved in the campaign include Agriculture, Health, Veterinary, Fisheries, Education, and the District Industry and Commerce Centre, alongside banking services coordinated by the Lead District Manager (LDM). These departments are jointly delivering services and outreach programs targeting tribal welfare.
As part of the Abhiyan, Arvind Mudgal, Under Secretary from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, visited Kasidoba and Kasibari villages under Chiponcila Gram Panchayat on Saturday. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of health services and other tribal welfare initiatives being carried out through the camps.
He was accompanied by officials including the Joint Director of Health Services, Senior Planning Officer (Tribal Affairs), Sub-Divisional Medical and Health Officer, District Program Manager, District Media Expert, and Block-level health and welfare officers from Bongaigaon.
Mudgal also visited Mechpara village to inspect activities related to agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, industry, and rural banking. In addition, he visited Jelkajhar Barshangaon High School to observe the ongoing Aadhaar enrollment drive for students of Classes IX and X.
The campaign aims to ensure integrated and inclusive development in tribal areas through coordinated government efforts.
