    The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills on Monday has suspended International Border Trade at Tamabil.

    The prohibitory order banned any assembly of people, all Political, Public, Social and Religious gathering including conferences, meetings and training.

    In addition to the prohibitory list Shops, Restaurants and bars in west Jaintia Hills District are to close by 6 Pm.  

    The lawthymme Market, Lad Stadium, Ladthalaboh, Jowai/ lawmusiang Pohiaw/ law Chor (CNI Market) Sein Raij market lawmusiang, Jowai / lawchyiap (JPC Market) Chutwakhu, Jowai and weekly markets at Iawpynsin (Wahiajer), Iawmuchai (Shangpung), Iaw Raliang, Iaw Khanduli, Iaw Namdong, law Muksoo (Mookaiaw) law Sahsniang and Iawthymme (Saphai), are permitted to open with effect from 11 May, 2021 from 8.00 Am to 6.00 Pm

    Shops for essential items and Hardware in Ummulong, lalong. Pasyih and 8th Mile on the National Highway 6 (Old name NH44) are allowed to open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 AM to 6.00 pm. The respective CCMC are to strictly follow COVID-19 Behaviour using Odd/Even number for effective implementation of social distancing.

    Public transport to run with 50% seating capacity and mandatory wearing of Face Masks. Strict action shall be taken against violators.

    All Places of worship are to remain closed except for wedding ceremonies subject to a ceiling of 20 persons with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner/Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.

    Funeral rites related to gathering are permitted to a ceiling of 20 persons and mandatory wearing of face masks. Bereaved family is requested to maintain a register showing name, Address and Mobile number of visitors.

    For Medical Emergency and Inter-District transportation of essential goods, the citizens are advised to apply for the ‘EPASS’ from the District portal: megedistrict.gov.in

    The District Magistrate has urged the public to avoid unnecessary movement within Jowai Town and to State Capital Shillong as well.  ADIPR
