    The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has directed all public and private institutions in the district to set up Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) as mandated under Section 4(1) of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

    Institutions have been asked to submit a compliance report to the office of the Deputy Commissioner within 30 days from the date of this notification.

    Failure to do so will invite action under Section 26 of the Act, which prescribes penalties for employers who do not constitute the ICC.
