Implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) at Mawpat village will start very soon.

This was informed by former cabinet minister and BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah Alexander Laloo Hek after his meeting with the Minister in-charge PHE Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar on Wednesday. The proposal for inclusion of Mawpat under JJM was submitted by the MLA quite some time back.

Hek said the minister has assured that the scheme will immediately be sanctioned and very soon a foundation stone will be laid for starting the implementation of the JJM to provide water tap connection to every household in Mawpat village.

According to him, the state level sanctioning committee has already approved a sanction of Rs 32 crore for the scheme.

Hek further informed that the incubation centre at Mawpat is also ready for inauguration. The centre was sanctioned at a cost of Rs 18 crore when he was MIDC chairman, the post which is now currently held by Tongkhar.
