IIT Guwahati to confer 2,093 degrees at the 27th convocation on July 13

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) will host its 27th convocation on Sunday, July 13. This year, the institute will confer degrees on 2,093 students, marking a major milestone in its academic journey.
Dr. Rajendra Singh, D. Houser Banks Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University, USA, will be the chief guest and deliver the Convocation Address. J. D. Patil, President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, will serve as guest of honour.

Sharing his thoughts on the event, IIT-G Director Prof. Devendra Jalihal said, “The 27th convocation is a celebration of our students’ achievements and the institute’s growing role in shaping India’s future through science and technology. We’re proud to welcome Dr. Singh and Mr. Patil, whose insights will undoubtedly motivate our graduates.”
The graduating class includes 1,005 undergraduate, 818 postgraduate, and 270 PhD students. Four gold medals will also be awarded: the President’s Gold Medal, the Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal, and the Governor of Assam Gold Medals for both UG and PG categories.

From its inaugural convocation in 1999, with just 63 graduates, IIT Guwahati has experienced significant growth, awarding degrees to over 24,700 students in the past 26 years.
