IIM Shillong inaugurates 13th Doctoral and 18th PGP batches

IIM Shillong welcomed the 13th batch of its Doctoral Program (Residential) – Class of 2025 – and the 18th batch of its Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP 2025–27) during a ceremonial commencement on campus.
Prof. Nalini Prava Tripathy, Director (I/C), urged students to embrace learning as a journey of growth, reflection, and responsible leadership. Chief Guest Parmod Kamlani, Partner at EY Strategy & Transaction, highlighted the importance of trust, authenticity, and aligning actions with words in leadership.
The Doctoral Program cohort includes five scholars from five states, all from non-engineering backgrounds, with 60% male and 40% female representation. Their average age is 25.6 years. Admissions involved two rounds of interviews held across major cities.
The PGP 2025–27 batch comprises 405 students selected from over 2.3 lakh applicants via CAT 2024. The group is 58% male and 42% female, with a near-even split of engineering (46%) and non-engineering (54%) backgrounds. About 72% have prior work experience, mostly between one and three years. Representing 22 states and 4 Union Territories, the batch reflects strong national diversity.
Prof. Rohit Joshi, Dean – Academics, administered the Pledge of Commitment, marking the start of their academic journey.
With the new academic year, IIM Shillong reaffirms its commitment to nurturing ethical and responsible leaders for a sustainable future.
