IBSD hosts successful scientific exposure for Kendriya Vidyalaya students in Meghalaya

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, organized one day scientific exposure for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Eastern Air Command, Upper Shillong, East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya on November 17.
The event aimed to foster scientific temperament and technological capacity among students.
More than 100 students along with 4 teachers visited different laboratories and Orchidarium at IBSD campus. This visit was also a part of the school curricular activity under the new education policy.
The students showed immense excitement and interests during their interaction with IBSD Scientists, Dr. Sunil S. Thorat, Dr. Evanylla Kharlyngdoh, Dr. Sushil Kumar Chaudhary and Scholars.
The students had an insight exposure to learn the functioning and uses of various scientific instruments, facilities available at IBSD. The students and teachers were also encouraged to develop innovative ideas towards science and technology which can be applied for societal upliftment and sustainable development.
The IBSD at Upper Shillong has established state of the art laboratory and other research facilities under the leadership of Prof. Pulok Kumar Mukherjee, Director, IBSD.
