The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Shillong City on Friday demanded the state government to immediately declare the results of the examination held last year for appointment of over 202 staff nurses in the state.

In a letter to the DHS (MI) Dr Aman War, HYC-SC president John Lyngdoh said, “We are surprised on the non-publication of results till date and for public interest and for the interest of all the applicants, it is necessary on our part to seek from your esteemed office an explanation on the delay so that our youths and the citizens does not lose hope or have a doubt on the system of recruitment. The more the delay, the more doubts it creates on the people.”

“We hope that you will take necessary steps to address this issue accordingly and complete the whole process of recruitment at the earliest,” he said.

The office of the Director of Health Services (MI) has invited applications in the month of September-October, 2021 from eligible candidates to appoint 202 numbers of staff nurses in the state.

The written examination was conducted on December 4.

As it was specifically written in the advertisement, the written examination was held through optical marks recognition (OMR) sheet and the questions are in multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each.

However, as per information received, till date the results of the written examination was not declared even though the examination was held through OMR sheets and the whole process should not have taken more than a week to conclude, Lyngdoh said.
