In another breakthrough, the Indian Army recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the general area of Gwaltabi village, Imphal East district of Manipur on Monday.

The recovery includes one Improvised Long Range Mortar (Pompi), one 303 Rifle, two 12-bore guns, two hand grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores.

“Based on specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in Gwaltabi village, a joint search operation was launched with the Manipur Police,” a defence spokesperson said.

“The recoveries have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal,” he said.
