Hricheeta Saikia wins Local Rockstar Season 2 Grand Finale

The second season of Radio Gupshup’s Local Rockstar, presented by Trends and powered by XUV 3XO Revex, concluded on a glittering note with the Grand Finale held on August 30 at Assam Down Town University. The event showcased the best of Guwahati’s student talent, with participants from 11 colleges competing across music, dance, fashion, and creative arts.

The evening featured an electrifying line-up of performances, judged by renowned singer Bishrut Saikia for the singing category and celebrity hairstylist Bhaskar Saikia for the dance and X-Factor categories. Their feedback and encouragement lent both rigour and glamour to the competition.

The top honour went to Hricheeta Saikia from the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), who impressed the judges and audience alike with a powerful vocal performance. The second prize was awarded to Ishani Mudiyar of Colton University for her dynamic dance act, while the third prize went to Arya Vidyapeeth College’s Nayan Bodo for a distinctive flute beatboxing performance in the X-Factor category. A special mention was given to Mrityunjai Mahanta of Hiteswar Saikia College for his commanding stage presence.

Adding to the grandeur, a fashion show presented by Trends saw Daisy Das of Assam Down Town University crowned Trend Setter. Parleen Islam from Guwahati Commerce College and Himi Munni from Assam Down Town University were named first and second runners-up, respectively.

With its blend of talent, glamour, and youthful energy, the finale reaffirmed Local Rockstar as one of the city’s most awaited youth talent platforms. The event not only celebrated artistic expression but also highlighted the creative vibrancy of Guwahati’s student community.
