The High Level Committee (HLC) headed by the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong will very soon submit its recommendations to the state government for resolving the long pending issue related to the Sweeper’s Colony.

After chairing a meeting of the HLC on Friday, Tynsong told reporters that the consultation committee headed by the Urban Affairs Minister, Hamletson Dohling has submitted its report to the HLC for consideration.

“We are almost reaching the final stage but we will again sit for another meeting,” he said.

Asked, the Chairman said, “Hopefully in the next meeting, we will be able to finalise everything and submit our report and recommendations to the state government for necessary action.”

It may be mentioned here that the HLC was constituted by the state government for finding a feasible solution to relocate the Sweepers’ Colony from the Them Iew-Mawlong after massive protest in 2018.
