SHILLONG: The Meghalaya High Court has come up with an action plan for reduction in pendency of five-year-old cases and more in subordinate courts in the state.

The action plan has set a target for all subordinate courts to  achieve zero five-year-old plus cases by March 31, next year.

“The target date to achieve zero ten year plus old cases shall be December 31, this year,” it said.

It further stated that every judicial officer shall endeavor to dispose of on a monthly basis at least 10 percent to 15 percent of the five year plus old cases in respective courts while directing that any deviations shall be immediately intimated to the High Court.
