Govt transfers SPs in Jaintia Hills, South West Garo Hills

The Meghalaya Government on Friday carried out a minor reshuffle in the state police, with new Superintendents of Police (SPs) appointed in three districts — West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, and South West Garo Hills.

According to a notification issued by the Home (Police) Department, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa, IPS (RR:2016), currently SP of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Shillong, has been transferred and posted as SP, West Jaintia Hills, Jowai. He replaces Chemphang Syrti, IPS, who has been posted as SP (R/PR), Shillong.

Giri Prasad M, IPS (RR:2017), SP of East Jaintia Hills, Khliehriat, has been posted as SP, ANTF, Shillong, replacing Dhanoa.

Vikash Kumar, IPS (RR:2018), has been transferred from South West Garo Hills, Ampati, and posted as SP, East Jaintia Hills, Khliehriat, in place of Giri Prasad M.

Vikash Varma, IPS (RR:2020), SP, CM Security, Shillong, has been transferred and posted as SP, South West Garo Hills, replacing Vikash Kumar.

In a related move, Ishan Gupta, IPS (RR:2021), Additional SP, West Jaintia Hills, has been posted as Additional SP, CM Security, Shillong, taking over from Vikash Varma.
