  • Govt to soon release salary of SSA teachers

    SHILLONG: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has informed that the department is already in the process to release the salary of SSA teachers.

    According to him, the pending salary is for three months from August to October:

    “There is no problem. The process of releasing the salary is on. We have received the funds and now we are in the process to disburse the same,” he said.

    Earlier, the Meghalaya SSA School Association has threatened to hit the streets if the government delays to release the salary of teachers.

    The minister assured that the government will also be able to release salary till December.

    He also informed that officers of the education department are working very hard to resolve the problems faced by the teachers.

    Over 5814 lower primary teachers and 6727 upper primary teachers are working in the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan schools.
