Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has expressed hope to soon complete the process of filling up the various vacancies in the department.

According to him the total number of 2,228 posts are lying vacant in the department right from Grade-IV to the top post.

Raising a supplementary during the question hour, the opposition chief whip and Mawlai MLA, Process T Sawkmie requested the government to speed up the process of filling up the vacancies.

On this, Rymbui informed that the Meghalaya Public Services Commission (MPSC) has already advertised MPS posts.

“The central recruitment board has also advertised the posts in 2019 and we are hopeful that in the next few months, we will be able to complete the process of filling up the vacancies,” he said.
