Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Thursday assured that the government will leave no stone unturned to ensure perpetrators of crimes against women and children are brought to book.

Responding to a query on the issue, Lyngdoh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating atrocities committed against women and children in the state.

According to him, the various bodies functioning under the department’s guidance demonstrate the government’s dedication to addressing this critical issue.

The minister expressed determination to bring perpetrators of atrocities against women and children to book, ensuring that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of justice.

“Infact, the fact that we have these various bodies which function under the guidance of the social welfare department shows our continued commitment in eliminating atrocities committed against women and children. It is a disturbing trend but we will leave no stone unturned to bring these perpetrators to book,” Lyngdoh told reporters.

Lyngdoh also praised the functioning of various commissions and committees under the department, highlighting the commitment and capabilities of their leaders.

“I am happy the various commissions and committees under the department are functioning really well and we committed and capable leaders heading these various committees and commissions,” he added.
