    NPP leader and cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday assured that the MDA government will ensure the remaining six areas of difference will be resolved before 2028.

    Speaking to reporters after accompanying her husband and sitting MDC from Laitumkhrah-Malki Fatin Joseph Lakadong, Lyngdoh said, “We assure that the border issue will be resolved before 2028.”

    “We will also ensure that there is no land alienation and there is no violation of the land transfer act,”she added. 

    Lyngdoh urged the people of Khasi and Jaintia region not to be misled by the opposition parties, which are making such basless allegations. 

    “We are chosen by God to protect our land and our people. We are here to serve and ensure development of the indigenous people and the land,” she said.

    Asked, Lyngdoh said, “It is the job of the opposition parties to make all kinds of allegations but that will not deter us from moving forward and continue to work and serve the people and the state. God will guide us.”

    Stating that the NPP would like to refrain itself from any blame game against anybody, the minister however said, “But we will remind you that the land does not belong to only one party, it belong to all of us.”

    Lyngdoh also expressed confidence that the party will get the support of its partners in both the KHADC and JHADC. 

    “There are some who felt offended when we said that without the support of the state government, it would be difficult for any party who will for the new EC. But the NPP will get the support of its partners in the KHADC and JHADC,” she claimed.

    On the ther hand, Lyngdoh lauded her husband for having worked so hard and said, “He (Fantin) will continue to work hard. He is not only my husband but he is also a leader. He will continue to work. As a couple we will work hard.” 

    “The NPP candidate is the first to file his nomination because this reflect the fact that the party is taking this job very seriously,” she added.

    “The NPP has decided to refrain from mudslinging and that we will highlight all the good works done by the party. The MDA has contributed alot,” the minister said.
