Govt to come up with comprehensive plan to improve power scenario before 2035: Mondal

Power Minister AT Mondal on Tuesday said the government is coming up with a comprehensive plan for 2035 to ensure the power scenario in the state is improved.
Speaking to reporters, Mondal said, “As per power scenario in the state, we are growing in a steady way although our growth is little bit different compared to other states. we are coming up with a comprehensive-adhesive plan for 2035 that when we reach 2035, how our power scenario will be.”
He informed that the government is in constant touch with the Ministry of Power and said, “We are flagging the issues which can be helped by the ministry. All these matters are being taken care of and we are making our upgradation plan in terms of power scenario, manpower and everything including our system upgradation (before we) reach 2035. We are working on it and we are taking everybody into confidence.”
When asked, the minister said, “We need to upgrade our own system. After completion of RDSS, we will be reaching a very nice position because the work has been started and it is going on. Second thing is that to reduce our losses with RDSS and there is the installation of smart meters which will also minimize our losses and upgrade our revenue collection. We are also looking forward to transmission and generation. We will be taking everything into account to see that we are well placed when we reach 2035.”
Further, the minister informed us that the monsoon has come and the state will naturally be comfortable in terms of power supply.
“But before the onset of the monsoon season already we have mentioned that we have surplus power and we will not go for any load shedding,”he stated.
