The state government has decided to bear medical expenses of all the victims who were injured in the violent incidents recently.

The announcement was made by the chief minister Conrad K Sangma after visiting the injured persons at the Shillong civil hospital here on Monday.

The chief minister was also accompanied by home minister Lahkmen Rymbui, health minister AL Hek and GAD minister Comingone Ymbon besides senior government officials.

Sangma told reporters that as per report, the condition of most of the injured persons are stable.

He further informed that some of the victims require medical operations to be performed and once these procedures are completed by tomorrow, ‘the injured people should be completely out of danger’.

“We have also informed them that all medical expenditures including operations and medicines will be completely borne by the government,” he said. The chief minister also expressed concern on the situation they are facing.
