Cabinet Minister AL Hek on Monday reiterated that a defamation case should be filed against those maligning the image of Meghalaya following a significant breakthrough in the disappearance of a honeymooning couple from Indore with the surrendering of the wife of (L) Raja Raghuvanshi and two others from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

“Their whole family is blaming the Meghalaya government and police and particularly it is very shameful that they are blaming the people of Meghalaya,” Hek told reporters.

Asked, the minister said, “I told you before also we should file a defamation case against these people who are maligning the image of the state of Meghalaya and maligning the people of Meghalaya. We have to file a defamation case.”

Congratulating Meghalaya police, Hek said, “They have done an excellent job. Within seven days they have already nabbed the culprits and within seven days they have shown their capabilities. Bravo to Meghalaya police. They have done the best to nab the culprits.”
