    The state government has decided to increase the ex-gratia for victims of electrical accidents to Rs 2.50 lakh.

    The decision was approved at the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday.

    “We have decided that the ex-gratia amount will be increased from Rs 1 lakh for the loss of human lives to the revised amount of Rs 2.50 lakh,” Sangma told reporters.

    He said that there has been an increase of almost 100 percent for other categories which related to flood damage, damage to houses and livestocks.

    The cabinet has also approved the amendment of the Legal and Metrology department service rules and the appointment of Col (retired) MM Singh to the post of Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer in Tura.
