Govt has no proposal to create new C&RD blocks: Mondal

Minister in-charge Community & Rural Development Abu Taher Mondal on Thursday said there is no proposal from the government side for the creation of new C&RD blocks.

Speaking to reporters, Mondal said, “It is a continuous process. As and when the government receives representation from various constituencies for creation of new blocks, the government will take a call on that.”

He said the prime idea of the government is to bring administration closer to the doorstep of the people and block is one of the offices which provide support to the masses in the grassroot level.

“New proposals keep coming but as of now we have not decided that new blocks should be created because we first want to see that whatever blocks that have been created till date are made functional as early as possible and after that we will consider creation of new blocks,” Mondal said.

According to him, so far five proposals for creation of new blocks have been received from different organizations and political leaders.
