Govt examining proposal to start cargo flights

The state government is examining the proposal of starting the cargo flights from the Shillong Airport. 

This was informed by Minister in-charge of Power, James K Sangma in absent of the Minister in-charge of Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar in the Assembly on Wednesday. 

“The department can examine the matter,” Sangma said in reply to a supplementary query raised by Umroi legislator Geogre B Lyngdoh.

The minister also informed that the government has no plan to shift the location of the Shillong Airport currently located at Umden (Umroi), Ri Bhoi district.
