Govt enhances honorariums of MSCW chairperson, members

The state Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to enhance the honorarium and allowances of the chairperson of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSWC) to Rs 50,000.  

After the meeting, chief minister Conrad K Sangma said according the Meghalaya State Commission for Women Rules 2005 has been amended. 

“We have decided to increase it from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 for chairperson, from Rs 7500 to 35000 for vice chairperson and from Rs 5000 to Rs 20000 for members,” he added.

According to him, the enhancement was done to match with the honorariums paid by other North East States.
