    SHILLONG:The state government has declared three days state mourning from July 29 to July 31, as a mark of respect to the sad and sudden demise of Meghalaya Assembly speaker Donkupar Roy. 

    As per government communiqué issued here, during the period of State mourning the National Flag will be flown at half mast on government buildings throughout the State where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment during the period of the State mourning. 

    The State funeral of Dr Donkupar Roy will be held at Sohra and the burial will be at Shella on July 31. All state government offices and all revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in Meghalaya will remain closed on July 31.
