  • Govt constitutes all party committee to assess cost benefit analysis of railways in Meghalaya

    The state government has constituted an All Party Committee to submit recommendations on issue related to railway connectivity in Meghalaya. 

    A notification issued by the chief secretary DP Wahlang on Wednesday said the committee will be headed by the chief minister or by a minister to be nominated by the chief minister. 

    All political parties are requested to depute two representatives for the said committee. Government departments related to the matter will be invited during deliberation to be held by the committee. 

    As per the terms of reference, the committee has been asked to examine and find solutions, ways and means to bring about the introduction and construction of railways in Meghalaya. 

    The committee will also assess the cost benefit analysis of introduction of railways in the state. It will seek views of all stakeholders and accordingly submit the recommendation to the state government.
