The state government will soon be able to clear all liabilities to the generating companies and transmission companies, Power Minister James K Sangma said on Thursday.

Sangma told reporters that the state government is availing loan of Rs 1,345.72 crore and this was also approved by the cabinet last year.

He said the loan is a special package given by the Prime Minister under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (ANBA) scheme to infuse liquidity to stress discom (distribution companies).

“This will be dispersed to all the gencos and transcos which include NEEPCO, OTPC, NHPC, PGCIL…so by that we expect that we will be able to ride off all our liabilities to the generating companies and transmission companies,” the minister stated.
