Govt appeals to people to go for smart meters

Power Minister AT Mondal Tuesday appealed to the people of the state to go for smart meters.

Speaking to reporters, Mondal said that till date people are still reluctant to install smart meters.

“Therefore, we are requesting every consumer wherever possible to go for smart meters because that will stop all confusion over billing and if there is confusion from MeECL for under billing all confusion will be over,” he said.

Mondal said the process is on to install smart meters. “Some have already been installed and we will go further also,” he added.
