The state government on Friday announced its decision to allow re-opening of religious places across the state from October 1.

“The government of Meghalaya has taken a decision to open the worshiping places from October 1,” Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said.

He said this was after the government has finalized the standard operating procedure (SOP) and Protocols which were discussed with different religious leaders under the banner Shillong All Faith Forum (SAFF).

He said the notification for the SOP and protocols will be notified tonight.
