    The District Selection Committee (DSC) of West Jaintia Hills District in Jowai has rolled out a new set of job vacancies, inviting genuine citizens of India to apply online. This unique initiative prioritizes local candidates who are permanent residents of West Jaintia Hills District. The application window is open from January 25, 2025, to February 25, 2025.

    1. Lower Division Assistant-cum-Typist

    • Pay Level: 5 (Revised Pay Structure)
    • Total Vacancies: 34 (Including 2 for sportspersons)
    • Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/SSLC with a certificate in Computer applications and a minimum typing speed of 30 wpm.

    2. Male Supervisor

    • Pay Level: 5 (Revised Pay Structure)
    • Total Vacancies: 1
    • Educational Qualifications: Graduate

    3. Gram Sevak (Male and Female) and Gram Sevika (Only Female)

    • Pay Level: 5 (Revised Pay Structure)
    • Total Vacancies: 5 (3 for Gram Sevak and 2 for Gram Sevika)
    • Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/SSLC with Computer knowledge

    4. Copyist

    • Pay Level: 2 (Revised Pay Structure)
    • Total Vacancies: 1
    • Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/SSLC

    Age Limit and Relaxations

    Candidates must be between 18 and 32 years of age as of January 1, 2025. Specific age relaxations apply for SC/ST candidates and those with benchmark disabilities, according to government norms.

    Reservation and Flexibility

    The vacancies are reserved as per existing government policies, with the DSC retaining the flexibility to adjust the number of vacancies based on requirements.

    Application and Payment Process

    Candidates must complete the application process online through the DSC website. Payment options include Debit/ATM Card, Net Banking, E-Challan, or UPI. Persons with benchmark disabilities are exempt from the application fee.

    Important Instructions for Applicants

    1. Registration: Candidates are required to register themselves with the District Selection Committee, West Jaintia Hills through the website here using a valid email ID. This email ID will be used for all future correspondences by the office.
    2. Application Code: A unique application code will be generated for each post applied. This code must be used for all future correspondences and online payments.
    3. No Hard Copies: The DSC will not accept any hard copy applications. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
    4. Photo and Signature: Candidates must upload a recent colored passport-size photograph in JPG format along with their signature. The file size must be less than 50 Kb.
    5. No Corrections: No requests for changes or corrections in the application form will be entertained.
    6. Impersonation: Any candidate found impersonating or using improper means will be permanently debarred from any examination or selection.
    7. Expenses: Candidates must appear for the written test/interview at their own expense.
    8. Service Locations: Selected candidates must be willing to serve in any interior place of West Jaintia Hills.
    9. Canvassing: Direct or indirect canvassing will disqualify a candidate.
    10. Track Application: Candidates are advised to keep track of their application status and any examination-related notices on the DSC’s website.
    11. Examination Process: All applicants will be allowed to appear in the examination. Scrutiny of relevant documents will take place after candidates have cleared the screening test/written examinations.
    12. Apply Early: Applicants are advised to apply well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.

    Candidates may also apply through cyber cafes and common service centers (CSC). For any guidance, they may visit the District Selection Committee branch at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.
