The verdict of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC)’s election passed by the electorates of Garo Hills was more of a yellow card to the National People Party (NPP) as the party managed to clinch only 11 seats out of the 29 seats indicating the people unhappiness over the party and the need for NPP leadership to pull up their socks.

While the Indian National Congress (INC) still emerged as a force to reckoning with 12 seats under its belts.

The general election to the 29 MDC constituencies of the GHADC was held on Monday and the counting was held on Thursday amidst tight security in all the five districts under the jurisdiction of GHADC.

The people of Garo Hills also reposes their faith on the BJP as two candidates of the party won the election.

The verdict passed by the people of Garo Hills also show the non acceptance of the United Democratic Party (UDP) as the party failed to win a seat in both the assembly election and the GHADC election.
