    SHILLONG: A case has been registered against a member of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) for allegedly assaulting a minor boy on Saturday.

    The incident took place at Garodubi village under Rajabala constituency in West Garo Hills District, when the boy was playing on the roadside.

    A statement issued by Islam Hoque Choudhury here said that a case against Balachanda MDC Sofior Rahman was registered with the Rajabala police station.

    Rahman after brutally beaten up the small boy and on being ordered his security personnel also beaten up the kid by kicking and as a result he got multiple injuries, the statement said.

    Condemning the incident, Choudhury has also requested the district Superintendent of Police to take necessary action against the MDC for such unlawful acts against the minor boy.

    Choudhury also expressed surprise as to how security personnel have been provided to the MDC, who he alleged have many criminal cases pending against him.
