  • Fresh landslides hit Lumding-Badarpur line again, multiple trains affected

    Train services on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section have been disrupted once again due to a fresh landslide at KM 51/1-2 between Mupa and Dihakho railway stations under the Lumding Railway Division. The landslide occurred on Monday, barely a week after services had resumed.

    Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) officials confirmed that boulders and earth have blocked the track, forcing the suspension of train movement until the debris is cleared. This marks the third disruption on this route in recent weeks. Services had resumed on June 28 but were halted the very next day due to another landslide, and only resumed again on July 3.

    To assist passengers, help desks have been set up at Guwahati, Lumding, Silchar, Badarpur, and Agartala stations.

    The trains which are cancelled are- 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express (July 7), 15611/15612 Rangiya–Silchar–Rangiya Express (July 7 & 8), 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express (July 8 & 9), 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express (July 7), 05638 Silchar–Naharlagun Express (July 7), 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express (July 8) and 05637 Naharlagun–Silchar Express (July 8).

    The trains that are partially cancelled are: 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express (July 7) – short-terminated at Badarpur, 12513 Secunderabad–Silchar Express (July 5) – short-terminated at Guwahati and 12501 Kolkata–Agartala Express (July 6) – short-terminated at Guwahati.

    The trains that are rescheduled are – Rescheduled: 13176 Silchar–Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express (July 7) – departure delayed to 3:00 PM, 14037 Silchar–Anand Vihar Terminal Express (July 7) – rescheduled to 6:00 AM, July 8 and 20501 Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express (July 7) – rescheduled to 6:00 AM, July 8.

    The trains that are regulated are – 12503 SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala Express (July 4), 13173 Sealdah–Sabroom Kanchanjunga Express (July 6), 01666 Agartala–Rani Kamalapati Special (July 6) and 15642 New Tinsukia–Silchar Express (July 6).

    Railway officials are working to clear the debris and restore services as soon as possible.
