Fresh landslides block NH-06 in East Jaintia Hills

Fresh landslides occurred on Tuesday at Kuliang and Lum Tongseng along NH-06 following heavy rainfall.

At Kuliang, the landslide site is now flooded, and road communication has been completely cut off from both sides. Mud and debris have blocked the highway, making it impassable.

Another landslide was reported at Lum Tongseng, just before the Forest Gate, further disrupting traffic on this key route connecting Meghalaya to Assam and other northeastern states.

Authorities have suspended all vehicular movement and advised commuters to take alternative routes. Clearance and repair work is in progress.
