    A conglomeration of six social activists from Ri Bhoi District on Monday called for an immediate enquiry following detection of fresh cracks of RCC Bridge across Dwar Ksuid Umiam River, Ri Bhoi District.

    The six activists are Aiborlang Jyrwa President, MUSO, Bishar Dhar Ex.President FKJGP. Ri Bhoi District, Kronding Nongbsap Ex.Headman, Vill-Sylleiular, Tynshain Makri President HYC Bhoirymbong circle, Jactson Sohtun. President MPUF and Audrey Syiemlieh. Secretary MPSO.

    In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Ri Bhoi District, they called for immediate enquiry/inspection of the bridge after detection of fresh cracks on January 13, this year.

    The letter said that with the fresh crack in the RCC Bridge substantiated that the bridge is now in a very bad condition.

    It is also highly risky to all the vehicles which ply over the bridge everyday and might put the life of people into danger, they said.

    The six social activists urged the DC to stop movement of all Heavy Loaded Trucks over the RCC Bridge of Dwar Ksuid Umiam River, Ri Bhoi District to prevent further deterioration of the bridge so as to protect the life of people as envisaged under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution from any danger.

    They appealed for immediate action within 3 days from the date of submission of the letter.

    They also expressed interest to participate during the time of enquiry/inspection
