Free hearing camp brings critical support to cancer patients at Intas Foundation

A Free Hearing Test Camp was held on Tuesday at Apna Ghar, Intas Foundation, Guwahati, offering much-needed medical support to cancer patients dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.
Organized by Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India Foundation in collaboration with the Intas Foundation, the initiative received strong backing from the Department of ENT, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Leading the effort was Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Head of ENT at GMCH, along with a team of doctors and an expert audiologist. The camp focused on hearing loss, a common but often overlooked side effect in cancer patients undergoing aggressive treatment.
Patients received free hearing screenings, expert consultations, and referrals for follow-up care, making early detection and intervention possible. Beyond medical services, the event offered emotional reassurance to patients and caregivers facing the challenges of cancer treatment.
The camp was coordinated by Amrita Borkotuky, Bhaswati Bhattacharya, and other team members, under the guidance of Tarana Deepjyoti Garg.
This initiative marks an important move toward holistic cancer care, recognizing that recovery extends beyond treating the disease—it’s also about supporting the person.
