  • Four young boys felicitated for rescuing 16 passengers of ill fated MTC Bus

    The East Garo Hills police on Wednesday felicitated four young boys from Nongchram for their heroic act during the recent MTC Bus accident.

    The four namely Sengrik D Sangma, Nilbath D Sangma, Walgrik M Momin and Jinjas D Marak carry out a heroic act by rescuing as many as 16 (Sixteen) survivors from the accident site at Ringdi River on the fateful night when an MTC bus plunge into the swollen River loosing control.

    The young boys have witness how the MTC bus spade on the highway just before meeting with its fate. The boys immediately followed the bus on hearing the loud thud!!! Noise and started rescuing survivors who were crying for help.

    The work done by them is worthy of praise, Superintendent of Police East Garo Hills said, “We salute them and wish them all the success in life.”
