  • Four persons arrested for challenging Contractor & Limestone Exporter

    A renowned Class I contractor and limestone exporter was threatened and challenged by unidentified miscreants on June 17, last.

    According to police, the contractor and exporter from Pynursla area identified as Alvinstone Khongthohrem reported that one anonymous phone caller challenged him to meet at Nongshyrngan village, Pynursla (EKH).

    Later, the complainant accompanied by Police personnel of Pynursla PS reached the aforesaid place and found one Maruti Eeco vehicle bearing ML-05J-1840with four occupants. They are namely (1) Aibanjoplang Khongji (21 yrs), (2) Aibanroi Khnongthiem (21 yrs), (3) Pynlangsiang Khonglahnoh (21 yrs) and (4) Phrisonwell Khongji (23 yrs).

    Police apprehended the four accused persons.

    Alvinstone Khongthohrem is also an executive member of the Ri-War Mihngi Exporter and Importer Association based in Pynursla, East Khasi Hills.
