    Four of the six convicted were sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court in West Jaintia Hills district.

    The four including Marsanki Tariang, Dinesh Niang, Kyrshan Rymbai and Winlyroi Sungoh were convicted for murder.

    Tariang was involved in setting is wife Marsooki Tang on fire at their residence at Iooksipriang village on March 19, 2015 while Niang stabbed one Rida Dkhar at Ionglwit village on January 2, 2009, Rymbai murdered his own uncle Lonfour Rymbai at Ringkyntien village on August 29, 2005 and Sungoh was involved in the murder of one Pynbiang Phawa in 2009.

    The court has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on Tariang, Niang and Sungoh while Rs 10,000 on Rymbai.

    The other two convicted were Emsalon Iakai and Ri bansuk Lamare.

    Iakai was convicted for the death of her husband Syrpai Ryngkhlem at their residence at Iooksi Thlongmoo on April 3, 2005 while Lamare was convicted for the death of Binus Suchiang on January 1, 1999.
