Former IPS officer seeks action against fake FB account

Former IPS officer and BJP chief spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang on Monday filed an FIR against a fake facebook account using his name to carry out criminal acts.

The FIR was filed with the Lumdiengjri police station.

“This is to inform that unknown person/persons have created a fake facebook account using my name and profile picture. Later the said person/persons started contacting people offering goods for sale. A copy of the fake facebook account is enclosed herewith. The motive of the act is to carry out criminal acts and for cheating,” Kharkrang said in the complaint.

“In this connection, am to request you to kindly take necessary legal action,” he said.
