    After a remarkable showcase of scientific prowess, Marian Hills Higher Secondary School in the Junior category and St. Peters Secondary School, Barato, Modern Secondary School, Ialong, North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai, and Adventist Higher Secondary School, Khliehtyrshi in the Senior category have emerged victorious.

    These winning schools are now set to represent West Jaintia Hills District at the State-level Children’s Science Congress, scheduled for November 14-15, 2023, at Shillong College.

    The District Level Children’s Science Congress with the theme ‘Understanding Eco-System for Health & Well Being,’ was held on October 18 at the District Library Auditorium in Mynthong, Jowai. The event was organized by the State Council of Science, Technology, and Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya Shillong, in collaboration with the District Planning Office, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, with support from the National Council of Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science Technology, Government of India, and the Planning Department, Government of Meghalaya.

    Dayamon Diengdoh, Programme officer from the State Council of Science, Technology, and Environment, Shillong, motivated the students to actively participate and make the most of the event to develop their knowledge and skills.

    Eminent professionals CP Syiem (Rtd Research Officer. S&T Cell. Planning Department) and Rahul Chatterjee, Core Committee member, SCSTE & teacher at Jail Road Boys Higher Secondary School, Shillong, were present as evaluators for the competition.
