     Five pick up trucks loaded with coal were seized from a village in East Garo Hills District. 

    The pick-up trucks were detected with coal off-loaded from a truck (AS 01 AD 5279) at Dangkong village on Wednesday early morning. 

    Confirming this, Assistant Inspector General of Police (A) GK Iangrai said that the coal was meant to be illegally transported to neighbouring Assam. He informed one of the pick-up drivers identified as Jahangir Alam (22) was also apprehended while the rest fled away. 

    Iangrai said a regular case is being registered in this regard. The registration numbers of the seized pick-up trucks include AS 18 AC 0634, ML 13 6828, AS 18 C 3755, AS 25 DC 7385 and AS 18 C 9016.
