Financer behind procurement of illegal contrabands arrested by Meghalaya Police in Assam

East Jaintia Hills Police with the aid of Assam Police in Lakhipur PS, Goalpara apprehended Jhangir Alom from Lakhipur, who is the financer for procurement of the illegal contrabands on Wednesday.

Police said Alom has been brought to Khliehriat and is being forwarded to Khliehriat Court.

Alom is arrested in connection with the apprehension of two drugs peddlers namely Biaklian Guite and Imliakum Longkumer, at BMS Fuel Station, Nongsning, travelling in a Tata winger bearing Regn No. NL-07-T-0815 and seized suspected Heroin weighing 2.738 Kg from their possession on 19th June, 2023, East Jaintia Hills District.
