    The final electoral rolls for the four Assembly Constituencies – 1-Nartiang (ST), 2-Jowai (ST), 3-Raliang (ST) and 4-Mowkaiaw (ST) was distributed to political party representatives by BS Sohliya, IAS, District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills, at the DC office in Jowai on Friday.

    Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) B Blah, ADC DV Lyngdoh and ADC HML Kynta .

    The Deputy Commissioner informed that the final electoral rolls for these constituencies, based on the reference date 01.01.2024, have been published following the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. The rolls are available for inspection at the Deputy Commissioner’s office (Election Branch) and designated polling stations during working hours.

    Regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), B Blah, ADC, ERO, mentioned that interested individuals can seek guidance on using EVMs and VVPAT at the office. A demonstration van will be used to raise awareness about EVMs and VVPAT machines.

    Here’s the breakdown of voters in each constituency:

    Nartiang (ST): Total voters – 45,375 (22,328 male, 23,047 female)

    Jowai (ST): Total voters – 41,345 (19,464 male, 21,881 female)

    Raliang (ST): Total voters – 40,019 (19,001 male, 21,018 female)

    Mowkaiaw (ST): Total voters – 39,669 (19,624 male, 20,045 female)

    Number of polling stations: Nartiang: 63 polling stations, Jowai: 57 polling stations, Raliang: 55 polling stations and Mowkaiaw: 55 polling stations.
