Family members of ex-HNLC leader file written statements before inquiry commission

The One Man Commission of Inquiry constituted by the state government to probe into alleged gunning down of former HNLC leader Cherishterfield Thangkhiew on Friday held its second sitting in Shillong.

The commission is headed by the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) chairperson Justice T Vaiphei.

The Director General Police (DGP) and Additional DGP have filed two separate written statements.

Also four of the family members of (L) Cheristerfield Thangkhiew and their doctor have filed written statements.

The Commission is examining these statements minutely, and next sitting for further proceedings, evidence etc has been fixed on October 22, at 11 am.
