    Veteran political leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh passed away on Sunday. He was 86. 

    Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma also took to twitter to condole the demise of Lyngdoh. 
    “Deeply saddened by the demise of veteran statesman and former Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Rowell Lyngdoh. As a senior member of our party, Bah Rowell made rich contributions to our growth through his counsel & guidance. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Sangma said. 

    Lyngdoh was a former legislator of Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills District. 

    Lyngdoh had left the Indian National Congress and joined the National People’s Party on January 4, 2018.
