Tourism minister Paul Lyngdoh on Wednesday said there is not just a particular day in a week which is holy.

He was reacting to a recent statement made by STIEH expressing its objection to the government’s decision to conclude the upcoming Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival on a Sunday.

“Every day is holy, every day is precious, every second is precious there is not just a particular day in a week which is holy and the rest of the week then becomes unholy so I don’t think it is really worth commenting on,” Lyngdoh told reporters.

The festival is all set to be held at the RBDSA Sports Complex, Ri Bhoi District from November 17 to 19 and is targeting to attract over a lakh visitors to Meghalaya.
