    The office of the District Planning Officer, West Jaintia Hills in collaboration with State Council of Science Technology & Environment, Shillong conducted Essay writing, Drawing and Painting competitions for school students on Friday in the Training Hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Jowai as part of Wildlife Week, 2022.

    The Wildlife week was observed from 1st to 7th October, 2022 on the Theme, “Recovering Key Species for Ecosystem Restoration.” 

    The topic for the Essay Competition was ” Wildlife Conservation” and for Drawing and Painting competition on the theme of Wildlife.

    8 (eight) schools includes Q.C Springside Higher Secondary School, Little Angels’ Secondary School, North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai Public School, Tome Memorial Secondary School, Tpep-pale Secondary School, Government Girls Higher Secondary school and Jaintia Higher Secondary school participated in the competitions. 

    Additional Deputy Commissioner and District Planning Officer, DD Syngai, MCS handed certificates to the winners of the competition.

    In the Drawing and Painting category, Daminot Symblai of Jaintia Higher Secondary school won the first prize and Isakaru Rynjah of Jowai Public School second prize.   

    In the  Essay competition, Gratify Tyngkan of Government Girls Higher Secondary School won the first prize while Damebudki Garod of Jowai Public School and Vincy Nora Pyrngap of Little Angels Secondary School won the second and third prize respectively.
