    A one-month Black Pottery Making training program under the 2023-2024 Handicraft Promotion Scheme was conducted by State awardee Helme Shylla at her Pottery Training Centre in Tyrshang Village, West Jaintia Hills.

    The program benefited 20 local trainees.

    Certificates and toolkits were distributed to the trainees by B Warjri, General Manager of District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC), Jowai, along with SE Kharpran, Functional Manager of DCIC, Jowai.

    Warjri encouraged the trainees to apply their new skills and highlighted the importance of preserving traditional crafts.

    The Pottery Training Center was funded by the Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Meghalaya, Shillong, under the Handicraft Promotion Scheme.
