Embhah Syiemlieh quits UDP

In a major blow to the United Democratic Party (UDP), former Mawlai legislator and Chief Adviser UDP State Youth Wing resigned from the party on Friday perhaps due to denial of party ticket to Syiemlieh in next MLA election.

In a letter to UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh Syiemlieh who also hold the post of Vice President UDP Shillong City District and Adviser UDP Mawlai Circle cited unpleasantness in the party as the reason of his resignation.

Along with Syiemlieh, six other top leaders from UDP Mawlai Circle also quit the party.

The six leaders are Manbhalang Marius Syiemlieh who is Joint Secretary UDP State Youth Wing and President UDP Youth Wing Shillong City District, Raymond Khyriem holding post of Joint Secretary UDP Youth Wing Shillong City District & Working president UDP Mawlai Circle, Pyndap Lawriniang who is Publicity UDP Youth Wing Shillong City District and Seiborlang Kharbamon holding post of Asst. Publicity UDP Youth Wing Shillong City District.

Two other leaders are Bankerlang Marbaniang who is Finance Secretary UDP Youth Wing Shillong City District and Dimos June Syiemlieh who is Vice-President UDP Mawlai Circle.
